1. Eat a Nutrient-Dense Diet

To achieve optimal health, pay attention to your nutrient levels. Nutrient deficiencies can lead to depression, anxiety, weight gain, and low immune response. 

The more vitamins and minerals you get from natural sources – fresh, whole foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds – the happier your body will be. 2. Get Plenty of Sleep

You need to sleep for your body to heal and replenish its energy reserves. If you’re struggling with insomnia or simply aren’t getting enough sleep because you’re working, watching TV, etc., your immune health is at risk

Try to set up a sleep routine and stick with it each evening. Shut off all electronic devices at least an hour before you want to sleep.

3. Reduce Stress

A 2015 study found that chronic stress results in chronic inflammation in the body. Inflammation can lead to disease development and lowered immune response. 

Ways to reduce stress: 

  • Get plenty of rest
  • Exercise consistently throughout the year 
  • Practice mindfulness
  • Try meditation
  • Take breaks during work

4. Practice Precautions 

Especially now, it’s imperative to practice good hygiene. Wash your hands often, for approximately 20-30 seconds, and try to avoid touching your face.
