3 Expert Tips for Diving Into Spring Activities
Spring is our cue to get back into action and resume our favorite outdoor activities. At the same time we at Tosk Chiropractic in Wailea see an influx of related injuries around this time. We have three expert tips for diving into spring activities while avoiding injury
Tip 1: Ease Into Spring Activities
When the robins start hunting for worms and the trees start budding, it’s tempting to dive into spring tasks and activities as if you’ve never stopped. Your body isn’t used to all that gardening, weed pulling, hitting up the golf course and so on. It needs to get reacclimated before you go 100%, or you’re going to end up with a sprain, strain, aching back, or stiff muscles.
Tip 2: Implement a Regular Stretching Routine
One of the best ways to protect yourself from injury is a proper stretching routine. Stretching keeps muscles flexible, strong and healthy, which means optimal range of motion, blood flow, and recovery time. Your stretching routine depends on your daily activities (like sitting at a desk all day or standing at a cash register), along with which spring activities you partake in.
At Tosk Chiropractic, we can customize a stretching routine to meet your needs and keep you going.
Tip 3: Hit Us Up for an Adjustment
Between quarantine, lots of snow and lots of cold, many of us have been sitting tight for months now. That means a lot of tight bodies that need loosening up, if not some chiropractic care after shoveling all that snow. Without the use of drugs, we’ll perform a thorough evaluation and adjustment so you can safely get back into action.
